Hello.

I want to ask about pin5 and pin6 (BALANCE) of LM6511.

Please show the reference circuit doing offset adjustment with this balance pin.
And please tell connection when I do not use the balance pin.
Connect 5pin and 6pin directly, and do not do wrong movement?

By the way, there are few high-speed comparators in Wide VIN.
Therefore, the customer is going to choose this device.
If there is the device which I can recommend elsewhere, please show it.

Hello Hashimoto-san,

The LM6511 is the extended low-voltage version of the LM311-N.

The Application Hints for the LM311-N (page 12) also apply to the LM6511.

If the balance pins are not used, they should be shorted together. If a trimpot is used, be sure to add the capacitor.

You do not see a lot of high speed, high voltage comparators because the fast edge rates (1ns) and high voltages become difficult to handle. Lower voltage, lower swings are preferred (LVDS).
