Datasheet error OPA1641/1642/1644

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA1641

Not sure if the forum is the right place to call this to TI's attention, but the datasheet for the OPA1641 audio op amp (and it's siblings) contains obvious errors in the electrical characteristics table.

For example, the input noise density at f=10 Hz is given as "f=100 Hz," where it should obviously be a numerical value. The input bias current is given as a range in volts, while the input offset current is specified in decibels. I haven't gone through the table with care, so there are probably others.

Obviously somebody cut-and-pasted a bunch of cells where they don't belong, and nobody bothered proofreading the table before the datasheet was released to the public. A bit sloppy, TI, no?

  • Hi Daniel,

Yes, it looks like someone messed up when working on 2015 update of the OPA1641 datasheet. The problem was found internally a while back and corrections to the datasheet have been submitted. Hopefully, it won't be too long before they appear on line. Here is what the noise specifications in the table previously looked like:

Thanks for bringing this too our attention.

  • Thank you, this is helpful. Can you tell me the bias current spec? That's important for my current application.

  • Hi Daniel,

Here's a link to the previous version of the OPA1641 datasheet. It looks like the table was correct in this version and lists the input bias current:

Also see Figures 24 and 25 if the bias current behaviors with temperature and common-mode voltage are needed.
