LMP2021 SOT23/SC70 complete wrong Pin-Function Table

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP2021, TINA-TI

Hi there!

Did anybody notice that the SOT23/SC70 pinning of the LMP2021 is complete wrong?

Please look at the Pin Function Table on Page 3.

For SOT23/SC70 package the Name, Pin-Numbers, and the Discription is confused.

I have tried the device in my circuit with the normal SOT23/SC70 pinning for OpAmps like shown in the picture.

The device doesnt work.

Also the TINA-TI Macro from Texas himself doesnt work.

Whats the right Pinning? Whats going on?

Best regards!

  • Mr. Thiel,

We are aware of the errors that crept in to the pinout tables during the latest update. I have already put in the change requests and will be correcting them soon (datasheet changes do not occur instantly due to approval and release procedures).

The pinout drawings are correct, as these did not change. The pinout description table was added during the update. Unfortunately, because there are several pinouts for SOT-23/SC-70 packages, the wrong table was used.

Please note there are currently over 6 different SOT-23 pinouts for op-amps - so there is no "standard" SOT-23 pinout. There are two popular pinouts ("North-west" and "South-east" - referring to the position of the output), but there are also several variants. Please be sure to verify the pinout if replacing another device.

The TINA model was not affected and has not changed since it's initial release into TINA three years ago. The .SUBCKT line reflects the SOT-23 pinout and is correct. Also be sure your GMIN is set to 1E-14 or less to properly model the low currents if you are having convergence problems.

We apologize for the confusion and are working on correcting the error.

    Regards,
