Hi,The THS9001 's DC supply is 3V to 5V and it's 1-dB compression at 350 MHz is 20.6 dbm.

The 20.6 dbm at a 50ohm-load is about 6.77Vpp.

Could it outputs above the DC supply(5V) when the load is 50 ohm?

Hello Hao,

If you look at page 3 of the datasheet you will see the simplified schematic. The L(col) pin is typically connected to an external 470nH inductor. This inductor basically forms a class C output stage and allows the amplifier to swing a voltage larger than the supply voltage.

This is fairly common for RF amplifiers.

Thank you very much! I always think the amplifiers couldn't output above the supply voltage before I use the this kind of amplifiers :)
