PGA206 replacement

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: PGA206, PGA280

Hi,

we are using PGA206 on a analog electronic board since 15 years, and we are regard to redesign a new one.

Do you new parts with same quality of PGA206 (Vin up +- 12v) and with a SPI interface ?

Thanks for your answer

Best regards

  • Hello,

Currently there are no new parts with the same quality specifications as the PGA206. The only device with similar specifications and has SPI interface would be the PGA280.  The PGA 280 is optimized for DC performance and has feature such as low offset, low bias current, and low drift, however,  the slew rate is lower (1-to-2 V/us depending on gain) than PGA206 (25V/us). One other important difference is the usable bandwidth.  The PGA280 has a gain bandwidth product of 6MHz for gains greater than 4V/V versus the PGA206 that has a gain bandwidth product of 10MHz.  Attached below are the Gain vs Freq curves of both devices.

  • Thanks for your reply,

I will keep the PGA 206 since it is really better for dynamic behaviour.

I wanted to be sure that TI will maintain active.
