THS4601: SOP to DIP

Hello Roger,
It is not available in a DIP package. The inductance from the DIP packages would hurt the performance of the high speed amplifiers. If you look at the layout recommendation section of the THS4601 datasheet, you will notice that it is recommended to not socket the device either.

Do you require +/-15V supplies on this or can you work with +/-5V supplies? Also, is this for a transimpedance application? We have the OPA657 which works on +/-5V supplies that has lower noise and may be better suited as a TIA.

Hi, Samir. It is used as the first stage of a mosfet audio power amp. A transistor level shifter takes the signal to a mosfet driver IC then the mosfets. Using a high speed op amp may be overkill. I found the schematic researching mosfet power amps and it looked interesting. Could a more common lm308 be used. I am limited to using 8DIP IC. Thank you.

I am not familiar with the needs of the driver in your circuit. Could you please send me a circuit schematic? Also I assume this is a CW signal and not PWM. What are the key specifications you are looking at?

- Gain
-Output Current Drive requirement
