THS4304: Proper High Speed clock buffer application

Part Number: THS4304
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA693, , THS4302

Dear experts,

Customer is looking for high speed amp to replace OPA693(Gain =2) which is used for 130MHz clock .

Must Requirement :

Supply : 3.3V, Package thickness : 1.3mm under..

I recommended THS4304DGK but it's slew rate(830V/us) is lower than OPA693(2500V/us) so I think it will not good for 130M CLK buffer.

Would you recommend proper part for this requirement ?

Thanks,

JH Seo.

  • Hi Jung,

Do you know what is the input signal swing and rise time of the clock signal? I don't think we have a better slew rate part that runs on a +3.3V supply with G=+2, other than the THS4304. If the customer is willing to negotiate on the gain, then the THS4302 (G=+5) is also a good choice, where the input signal can be attenuated using a resistive divider before being applied to the THS4302 and then amplified to the right signal level at its output.

    Best Regards,

    Rohit
