LM2904-Q1: Low-level output voltage with larger load resistance

Part Number: LM2904-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LM2904

Dear All,

In the datasheet of operational amplifier LM2904-Q1 I read the followings: VOL Low-level output voltage <20mV if the load resistance (RL) is not larger than 10 kOhm. Do you have any information about the low-level output voltage in case of larger load resistances (e.g. RL is  in the range of 40k...100k).

Thanks in advance,

Tamás

The data says RL is less than or equal to 10k. The LM2904-Q1 output can go very close to ground when the load (including feedback) is terminated to ground. In other words, VOL is near zero when the LM2904-Q1 is sourcing current.

When sinking current, the results are very different.

Here is typical VOL perfomance while sinking current.(from a different LM2904 variant data sheet)

  • Tamás,

For open load or high resistance load (40k to 100k, or higher), VOL will still be less than 20mV if the output is sourcing current or not sinking current.
