AMC1301EVM: AMC1301 analog input section

Part Number: AMC1301EVM
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1301, AMC1200,

Hi team
My customer wants to change from AMC1200 to AMC1301 to improve offset voltage.
I think analog input of AMC1301EVM do not need the filter (made by resistance and capacitance) as with "AMC1301 evaluation module user's guide Fig.1".
Would you tell me the improvement point from AMC1200 if the AMC1301 really don't need a filter?
ex. The improvement of in-phase noise.

Best regards

Hayashi

  • Hello Hayashi,

For many applications, the AMC1301 would not need a filter ahead of the analog input. The reason is because of the input structure differences between the AMC1200 and the AMC1301. If the AMC1301 is used in a high speed switching application, such as with GaN or SiC transistors, you may find that an anti aliasing filter improves the performance of the system.
