THS4011: Powerpad connection

Part Number: THS4011
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: DAC8871, OPA211A

Hello,

Can be left floating the power pad of THS4011?

Currently the customer use OPA211A for the buffer of the DAC8871 output.
Then the settling time from +10V to -10V is not better than the datasheet figure.
In the following post, the THS4011 is recommended to replacement from the OPA211A.
Since the OPA211A has not power pad, there is no layout for thermal pad.

This question is related to the following E2E post.

  • Hi Ryuji,

The THS4011 thermal pad is electrically isolated from all terminals in the package. So, yes. It's power pad can be left floating. Do you know what OPA211A package is being used by the customer? The THS4011 SOIC (D) package does not have a power pad and can be a pin-to-pin replacement to the OPA211A SOIC (D) package.

    Best Regards,

  • Hello Rohit san,

    I appreciate your help.
Unfortunately, they use MSOP package of OPA211A.
