TINA/Spice/LMV342: the difference between TINA-TI and actual value

Part Number: LMV342
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, TLV342

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Dear all,

Could you teach me the reason why the TINA-TI results is different from the actual value?

When I input 5V, the output voltage is 4.2V at TINA-TI.

The other hands, in fact, the actual output value is 4.8V.

Why does this difference occur?

Best regards,

  • Takao-san,

The TLV342 model is acting according to the section 3 description of the datasheet. This front page text says input common mode range is -0.2V to VCC - 0.8V, therefore the 4.2V limit in common mode is a early warning that common mode range is suspect.

I checked 3 devices (6 amplifiers) to see typical behavior at room temperature. Chart is VOUT vs. VIN.

Notice that each amplifier has a different response for input >4.7V (more obvious at >4.8V)
