INA282-Q1: Proper connection and setup for low-side measurement

Dear*,

I want to measure current from 0A to 20A on the low-side.

1) What is the proper connection of INA282 REF1 and REF2 pins if:

- I have a 3.3V power supply and I want to get on the output 3.3V for 20A and 0V for 0A ?

2) How do i select the right Rsense? to get 3.3V for 20A -> Imax=20A * Rsens * 50V/V = 3.3V ?

3) Does Ti have a better and newer current sense amplifier for this purpose than INA282 ? ( So i'm looking for a Automotive part)

1) For unipolar operation starting at 0V, set REF1 and REF2 to GND.
2) yes that equation is correct. it comes out to 3.3mOhm. be sure to account for swing to GND and swing to rail specs (see e2e.ti.com/.../3579.understanding-swing-to-rail-specifications)
3) We have many options for current shunt monitors, automotive qualified. You can use our product selection matrix to find all automotive qualified current monitors off the ti.com main page from the products dropdown. For low side unipolar, you may want to look at the INA199-Q1, INA210-Q1, INA301 or the INA180.
