INA213-Q1: Current Sense IC parameter query

Part Number: INA213-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMP8481-Q1

Hi,

I am trying to implement a differential voltage to single ended voltage converter using INA213-Q1 current sense IC. Measuring the differential voltage across a resistor.

My supply voltage is 24V and the max common mode voltage rating of this IC is 26V. Will this be a  problem for the circuit I'm trying to do.

If it is then please tell me what extra circuitry I could add to increase the voltage margin or if there is another current sense IC available for my cause.

Thank you.

  • Hi Brosnan,

A 24V supply voltage condition is acceptable for the INA213-Q1. This is true for the common-mode and positive power supply.

If there is concern that your system may exceed the 26V rating, our Q1 devices with wider common mode range will need a lower voltage on Vs powering the device - except the LMP8481-Q1. This lower voltage can be realized from your current supply using a resistor divider or regulator.

Let me know if there is more information I can provide.

    Thank you for your time,
    Manuel Chavez
