LM393N marking

Hello Paolo,

I moved your post to the General Purpose Amplifiers forum, as this is where the LM393 family is supported.

The LM393N is a LM393 comparator in a 8-pin DIP package. So that is correct so far.

The datasheet you are looking at is for the National version (-N) version. There are two versions, the TI version (LM393, ordered as LM393P ) and the National Semiconductor version (LM393-N, ordered as LM393N/NOPB). The National Semiconductor version will still have the National logo and the original National die.

The device in the photo looks to be the TI version. However, it does not seem to follow the current marking conventions for either the TI or National version.

Are you suspecting this is not a genuine TI device? If so, can you send a photo of the bottom of the device and a photo of the shipping label on the box/bag of rails?

This is old purchaase and the label was missed, so there was a question. Our purchase department cannot find it.

Is not it possible to identify the datecode of this part?

The date code does not seem to be a valid TI date code. There are also some other inconsistencies.
