Only LM324K and LM2902K have an ESD cell on the input pins. All LM324 variants have a parasitic diode as part of the PNP base node.

LM324 Vf (at 25C) will be similar to this LM358 input curve. (I don't have a LM324 curve on file). The exact value is not important; the key points are that lower than -0.3V may cause output phase reversal and limit current to -1mA or less using external resistors to reduce device stress.
