TINA/Spice/LM7171: Astable multivibrator using OpAmp LM7171A

Part Number: LM7171
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi High speed amp team,

I am making square wave generator by making multivibrator with LM7171A.

Please refer to below schematic, scope shoot and attached TINA simulation file.

Simulations for Multivibrator.TSC

As for high frequency(1MHz), it seems like no problems. However, at low frequency(11kHz), its duty ratio is not half. (You can find it from attached scope shot)

I guess that this issue is from differences between OpAmp's input bias current.

For making 50% duty ratio, the rising slope and the falling slope of the Vcap voltage should be same. However, due to the differences of input bias current, this is not the case.

So i need to get a cancellation circuit for input bias current of multivibrator applications.

Please let me know your comments.

Thank you in advance.
