MPY634: Accuracy when using MPY634 as a divider

Hello, I am using MPY634 as a divider. On the datasheet, it says that 'accuracy of the divider mode typically ranges from 1.0% to 2.5% for a 10 to 1 denominator range depending on device grade'. I don't understand what it means by '10 to 1 denominator range'. Does it mean the value of the denominator needs to be between 10V and 1V? Or does it mean the ratio of numerator and denominator has to be between 10 and 1? Or something else? Many thanks. Eric

Hi Eric,

yes, a "10 to 1 denominator range" means a voltage X1 - X2 between 10V and 1V.

Hi Kai,

Thanks for the reply. But the datasheet later said " ... can produce similar accuracies over 100 to 1 denominator range". It cannot be 100V, can it?

Hi Eric,

The MPY634 Electrical Specifications table on datasheet Pg. 2, under Divider Performance lists the X and Z ranges as 0.1V≤ X ≤ 10V and –10V ≤ Z ≤ 10V, respectively. The typical error over those voltage ranges is listed as 5.0 %. This performance is achieved with the specified +/-15 V supplies.
