Thanks for reaching out on our forum. As far as functional safety, this (and all of our current sense amplifiers) are considered Quality Managed (QM) devices. They are simple differential amplifiers, so there really is no way to build in any sort of diagnostics and have them be cost effective. Typically in functional safety applications, we are one of the “sense” elements that provide inputs to the system to determine if there are a fault.
