TLV2401: Negative voltage input

Part Number: TLV2401

Hello,

I would like you to confirm whether input and output spec for TLV2401.

* According to datasheet, it seems that user can input both negative and positive supply.

However, when I check waveforms in datasheet, there is no figure in case of negative voltage input.

Then questions are below.

1. Is it possible to input dual supply in TLV2401 ? ("Vcc" pin -> Postive voltage(Ex. 4V) and "GND" pin -> Negative voltage (Ex. -4V))

2. If yes, is it correct infomation about "-0.1V to Vcc + 5" spec of "VICR" ?

Best Regards,

Machida

  • Hello Machida,

Yes. You can use a "split" supply of +4V and -4V. As long as the difference between the supply pins is less than 16V. Op-Amps do not have a ground reference.

The TLV2401 is targeted to single supply applications (+V and GND), so the specifications are written for single supply applications.

So for a +4/-4V supply, your legal VICR input range is -4.1V to +9V..

  • Hello,

    Thank you for your reply.

    Do you mean below ?

    * User can input positive and negative voltage to "Vcc" and "GND" and also "V+" and "V-", however, you do NOT specify AC/DC spec in case of dual voltage.

So, you can NOT provide any data in case of dual voltage.

    Best Regards,
