MC3303: ESD rating

Hi Team,

My customer need the information to get the device approval in their system, but cannot find ESD rating of MC3303DR in datasheet. Could team help to provide it?

Hi Vincent,

If the ESD ratings are not in the datasheet, it is unlikely that we will be able to provide them at this point. Let me look into this and see if I can find anything out.

Does the customer have to use this device? Have them also look at the TLV4171 or TLV4170.

Hi Vincent,

I'm sorry but this is an old device and we no longer have this information in the database. If you need an ESD rating in the datasheet, I recommend selecting a new part like one of the devices I mentioned above.

Hi Paul,

Thanks a lot. Customer uses competitor's MC3303 and our solution will be a second source and already been qualified. Now customer is running ECN process and need this information. If ECN process is failed, our solution will not be able in customer's device pool.

Hi Vincent,

the MC3303 is a dino under the OPAmp. The original MC3303 didn't contain any ESD protection. In the meantime some manufacturers of MC3303 have added ESD protection to the die. But I don't think that TI has done that, because TI has lots of newer and better OPAmp today.

Hi Vincent,

The MC3303 was originally Motorola's a second source of the LM324 (actually, LM224 if temp range matters). You can "upgrade" to the LM324 family which does have ESD ratings. Or pick something from this century... :^)
