OPA2365: Advantage of OPA2365 over LMC6482 in radar application

Other Parts Discussed in Thread: LMC6482, OPA2365, OPA2364, CC2538

Hello TI,
there is any advantage of OPA2365 over LMC6482, currently we are using LMC6482 Op-amp for (CDM324)24GHz Microwave sensor signal amplification but there is some noise available in system which generate some false trigger to the system there for we plane to replace LMC6482 with OPA2365 because OPA2365 is specifiaclly used for Low noise, short and mid-range radar application

1.there is no change in resultant O/P when i replace LMC6482 with OPA2365  ...?
2.what is the advantage of OPA2364 over LMC6482 ....?
3.Is this help to avoid RF interference between OPA2365 amplification section ...?
4.how to reduce RF interference in OPA2365 amplifier ....?

Microwave O/p is going to CC2538 after amplification and there is Zigbee for wireless communication which generate RF interference whenever it's try to send something wireless
please anyone guide me how to fix this issue and make system reliable

Thanks,

  • Hi Rahul,
    1. Are you talking about EMI rejection or amplifier noise? OPA2365 is much higher bandwidth, which may increase total amplifier noise, because you must multiply the input noise by sqt(bandwidth) to get total noise.
    2. OPA2365 is a zero crossover part, which makes it low distortion.
3./4. You could try using a Faraday cage or circuit shielding if this is radiated EMI, also decrease loop sizes in your layout.
