Other Parts Discussed in Thread: OPA827, OPA828
Hello experts,
I plan to use OPA627 for current follower circuit.
But it looks old device.
Is there alternative device for OPA627?
Thanks and best regards,
Ryo Akashi

Hey Ryo,
I believe the OPA827 was intended as a new century update to the OPA627
Akashi-san,
The OPA627 is a legacy high-performance Op amp that provides very high electrical performance overall. Although it should be available for some time to come, TI recognized it that our customers needed a modern, low cost replacement. To meet that need the new OPA828 was developed and is available. The OPA828 product description indicates Low-Offset, Low-Drift, Low-Noise, 45-MHz, 36-V JFET-Input, RRO Operational Amplifier.
You can find all the OPA828 information and a link to its datasheet here:

Let me know if you have any questions about replacing the OPA627 with the OPA828.

Hello Michael,
Thank you for your comment.
It looks good. I will check OPA827.

Hello Thomas,
Thank you very much for your comment.
I understand OPA627 is a legacy Op amp. And OPA828 looks very good.
I will check OPA828 datasheet.
Thanks and best regards,
Ryo Akashi
Hi Ryo,
keep in mind that the OPA828 is much faster than the OPA627, 45MHz compared to 16MHz and 150V/µs versus 55V/µs. So, the OPA828 might need extra efforts referring to layout and decoupling.
The OPA627 (still) is a remarkable ultra high quality FET-OPAmp which came to the market in the 90ies, if I remember correctly. We have used this OPAmp in very demanding precision measurement applications at that time.
