TINA/Spice/TLV333: Issue when this opamp realized as unity gain configuration on a pcb

Part Number: TLV333
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI,

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

This opamp is configured as unity gain and realized in a pcb, when operated with VCC=3.1V. now output linearly varies with +ve input upto 1.7V and beyond 1.7V as input the linear relation is lost and output stays at 1.7V.

Need to reason the cause for this problem as TLV333 is featured as Rail-to-Rail Input/Output in datasheet, if this is the actual limitation of TLV333, need information of part that can be used as rail-to-rail input/output for 3.1V operating voltage.

  • Is this a single supply configuration: 0V and 3.1V?  In order to make sure that the input voltage source is referenced to the same ground, you have to connect the negative supply to a system ground or the supplies will be floating resulting in erroneous output - see below.

  • Hi Marek,

Thanks for the response. My problem is with correct connection figure of above response,

when this correct connection circuit is realized in bread board and VG2 is gradually increased from 0V  then VF2 follows VG2,

but this linear relation between VG2 and VF2 is lost when VG2 voltage is increased further more than 1.7V upto VCC(3.1V), and VF2 stays at 1.7V.

I did check my circuit connections again, it is nothing to do with floating supplies.
