TINA/Spice/LM218-Q1: Output current simulation

Part Number: LM218-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI, , LM318

Tool/software: TINA-TI or Spice Models

Hi,

I would like to simulate the LM218-Q1 output current characteristics under conditions other than VOM=±12V (±13 V) and RL=2 kΩ.
And I would like to see how much current can flow when the peak output voltage swing changes.

Before, LM318 was proposed as an alternative sim model.
Can I check the LM218-Q1 output current characteristics by simulating the LM318?

Best regards,
Yuto Sakai

  • Hello Yuto-san,

The ±12V at RL=2 kΩ means the device clearly supports ±6mA. Based on the device schematic there are current limits using the 25 ohm and 33 ohm resistors. Limit is roughly 0.6V/25 ohms (or 33 ohms). The LM318 model in TI-Tina is useful for LM218-Q1. The VOH, VOL and short current look reasonable.

How much output current is required for the application?
