LM2904: LM2904 power polarity reversed

   Thanks for your reply! But I am sorry that I want to confirm again, The customer has given me a complete circuit of LMV796. Could you please help to confirm whether LMV796 will be damaged after HV+380V and HV-GND are connected in reverse? When the polarity is reversed, IGBT has a built-in diode inside, and the product works through diode conduction. At this time, the current is 25A, and the input voltage at the same phase end and reverse phase end of LMV796 is high.

    If LMV796 is damaged, will there be a short circuit? Power and ground short or input/output short?This affects the stability of the customer system.

Only -75mV of the 380V supply shows up in the LMV796 circuit if the supply is backwards and 25 A flows. Al the LMV796 voltages look OK.

Does the circuit below represent the application?

Eric,

The Absolute Maximum Ratings table say that inputs must not be more than 300mV beyond either power supply rail individually and the inputs must not be more than 300mV in difference (one input voltage minus the other input voltage).

  So if 380V reverse,  the input of IN+ and IN- goes way beyond 5V, the LMV796 won't be damaged?

Thanks! I think I got it wrong before.

The voltage on the inputs [pins 3, 4] must be measured relative to the LMV796 ground [pin 2], so if pin 2 ground is +380V, the input（pin 3,4 ）is with ground as the reference, it is within 5V. Is that right?
