THS4281: Use as comparator?

Hello,

Does THS4281 have anti-parallel diodes on the input? Can it be used as a comparator?

Hi Michael,

The THS4281 has a maximum differential input voltage of 2V. Depending on your supply voltages and threshold, you might be able to use it as a comparator. However, it will have poor output recovery time compared to a dedicated comparator device.

Hi Jacob,

The differential input will be less than +/-2V, and the supply will either be 12V or 3.3V. Should that work?

Hi Michael,

Yes, that should work. However, you should expect that the output will take some time to recover from saturation and there will be no hysteresis.
