TLV1805-Q1: Use TLV1805-Q1 to realize a hysteresis comparator

Part Number: TLV1805-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV1805,

Hi,

We want to use TLV1805 to realize a hysteresis comparator. The V+(Vcc) is 5V, but we need the high threshold to be 5.4V and the low threshold to be 4.5V. How can we realize it? And If you have other recommendations, we need the socket to be Qualified for Automotive Applications.

Looking forward to your reply.

Thanks&Best Regards,

Wenxiu

  • Hi Wenxiu,

The TLV1805-Q1 has a common mode input voltage range of 200mV below V- and above V+. With a 5V supply, the widest range of inputs is -200mV to 5.2V. Feeding the TLV1805 a 5.4V input would violate the common mode of the device.

If you need the 5.4V upper threshold then using a resistor divider on the input voltage would allow you to use the TLV1805 in this application.

    Regards,

    Joe
