OPA2365: opa2365 to be replaced in slau508

I am trying to build a discrete analog to PWM generator as in SLAU508

My first question , in the triangle generator I am thinking to replace the OPA2365 with OPA2301 that has better bandwith , slew rate and inut bias current . Can you see any problems ?

Second on the error amplifier , I am thinking to replace the OPA2365 with opa 1612 (that has much better numbers). Please confirm

Hi,

What is your goal over the initial design with the OPA2365? Are you looking to achieve a higher bandwidth? It depends on the goals of your circuit, but you may need to redesign some of the circuitry because OPA2301 is not rail-to-rail like the OPA2365 and therefore cant swing as far as the initial design.

I am trying to increase the frequency to 1 or 1.5Mhz and make sure that triangle wave has very low distortion

Goal of the design is to achieve 0.0005 THD

Hi,

Are you trying to achieve 0.0005% THD at all frequencies up to 1.5 MHz? If that is the case, you may need an even higher performance amplifier to hit those frequencies.

Hi,

In that case the OPA2301 should work for the design. Just make sure you adjust the gain according to the output swing limitations.
