AMC1200-Q1: AMC1200 vs AMC1200B vs AMC1200-Q1 different

Part Number: AMC1200-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: AMC1200, AMC1211-Q1, AMC1311

We like to use AM1200 for voltage monitor, please help to Description different for AMC1200 vs AMC1200B vs AMC1200-Q1 ,thanks !

  • Hi Jinnrong,

The main differences between the AMC1200 and AMC1200B are in the voltage ratings and package options.  For the voltage ratings, please see section 7.3.1 of the datasheet.  The AMC1200B is rated to 4250V while the AMC1200 is only 4000V.  The AMC1200 is only offered in the DUB package, while the AMC1200B is offered in the DUB and the smaller DWV package.  The AMC1200-Q1 is essentially the AMC1200B with automotive qualifications.

So, with that said, I would rather see you use either the AMC1211-Q1 or the AMC1311 for voltage monitoring applications.  The AMC1200 has a relatively small input impedance and is designed specifically for current monitoring applications where a small value (i.e. sub ohm) shunt resistor is used on the analog inputs.  The AMC1211 and AMC1311 are designed specifically for voltage monitoring applications and give you a wider input voltage range with a much higher input impedance.
