Hello,

Whats the max. current from the alert open-drain Output?

regards

  • Hello user4767755,

Thanks for considering to use Texas Instruments. The max current that could be pumped through the "closed" drain would be depend on time.  From reliability standpoint the device should survive 5mA indefinitely and we do not recommend exceeding that.  However, if you plan on having quick corrective action for a triggered ALERT and expect to reset the ALERT to open shortly thereafter, then you might be able to run more current through the drain.  I will need to confirm with one of our test engineers; however, to the best of my knowledge we do not typically conduct a test that clarifies the max current the device ALERT can survive for a series of pulses of a given duration.  As for the "open" drain, assuming the ALERT was tied directly to the supply of 3.3V I would expect the max leakage current into the device to be 1uA.
