Hey,
I have a customer using theabove part and it seems to be overheating. They are trying to figure out what the 88ER stands for - is it a lot code. I couldn't find any documents explaining the part markings.
Cheers

Hi Calum,
It is likely a date code/lot code. The two numbers represent the month and year. The two letters represent assembly. To be sure can you post a picture of the top side marking?
Thank you,
Tim Claycomb
Hi Calum,
Yes, the 88ER represent the date code and lot code for that device.
Thank you,
Tim Claycomb
Thanks Tim,
Is there a doc somewhere that will transpose the date and lot code into an actual date and manufacturing location? The customer is seeing parts with this date and lot code overheating, Other date and lot codes don't' seem to have that issue.
Cheers
Calum
Hi Calum,
We do not provide information on how to transpose the date and lot code information due to the growing risk of counterfeiting IC devices.
Did the customer buy from an authorized TI Distributor?
In parallel, I will see if I can verify if this is an authentic TI device.
Thank you,
Tim Claycomb
Hi Calum,

Hi Calum,
Arrow is an authorized distributor and therefore I would not expect these to be counterfeit devices.
Is there any additional support the customer is requesting?
Thank you,
