OPA227: Long Term Drift

Hi all

My customer has a non-inverting amplifier with a gain=10 with the OPA227 and he asks about the long-term drift of the output voltage.

What value can they expect ?

... and would you rather suggest another OpAmp to achieve lower drift ?

This is to be used within a slow temperature control-loop, so OpAmp GBW can be small.

Morning Ueli,

You don't see a lot of actual measured Vos shift over long time periods - more common for references to show that,

The ones I have seen suggest that chopper amps do pretty well with very low (or actually more like test instrumentation) drift.

So I assume one should use a chopper OpAmp with very low offset and offset drift specification like the OPA189.

Yes Ueli,

That OPA189 looks to be an extremely low drift option (over long time periods)

If you don't need that 36V capability, there are many 5V options out there as well. Those might operate with lower supply current.
