LM293: Rail to Rail similar to LM293 - Open Collector/Drain Output

Part Number: LM293
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TLV7042, TLV1702

Hi All,

My customer is using LM293 for e-mobility application. However it is not very clear to customer the difference among VCC, Vivr and common mode voltage range.

Can we propose some new p/n similar to LM293 in package SOIC8 or VSSOP8 (no PDIP) supplied at 3.3V or 5V, output Open Collector or Open Drain that can accept Supply up to 36V without damage. And that in case of 3.3V supply the input be rail to rail and the same in case of 5V supply without damaging if supply reaches 36V. On the output there is a pull up resistor 3.3V to interface with a uC.

The comparator is used as a window comparator. Which p/n should I propose here? May be TLV7042?

Many Thanks,

Antonio

  • Hello Antonio,

The LMx39 input range is limited Vcc-2V (2V below VCC). So a 3.3V supply would have a limit (over temp) of 0 to 1.3V.

Drop-in replacement R-R input with up to 36V output is the TLV1702 (VSSOP8), and will operate off 2.2V to 36V. However, the input is limited to VCC+0.3V.

    TLV7042 is limited to <6V.
