OPA4191: OPA4191 RUM

Part Number: OPA4191

The data sheet for OPAx191 does not specify how the thermal pad of the WQFN-16 package option should be connected. Should it be grounded, floated, or connected to one of the supplies?

  • Hi Patrick,

Hmm... the thermal pad connection information is usually provided in the datasheet. Not sure why it is missing from the OPA4191 datasheet.

The OPA4191 RUM package thermal pad should be electrically connected to the negative supply voltage used to power V-. If the OPA4191 is being power by dual supplies such as +/-15 V, then the thermal pad should have -15 V applied to it. If the OPA4191 is powered by a single supply such as +15 V/0 V, then thermal pad should have 0 V applied to it.

    Regards, Thomas
