INA293: INA293 BW vs Output limitation

Part Number: INA293

Hi,

INA293 has a max BW of 1.3MHz and a slew rate of 2.5V/us.

If I calculate the maximum output swing at 1MHz, it is 0.397V, So If my Vout max is around 3V and output cannot swing to that voltage at a higher frequency. What is the use of having such higher bandwidth?

Also, In the datasheet, Section 7.3.1.1 explains Vsense vs BW but Figure 35 is BW vs Output voltage. It's a little confusing. (that voltage is Vdiff(sense )voltage or the output voltage of the Amplifier?

Regards

Vishal

  • Hello Vishal,

There is a difference between bandwidth and slew rate.  Bandwidth assume small signal therefore not limited by slew rate.   Our current sense amplifiers are similar to opamps and you can see this post with additional resources.

    OPamp e2e post.

Figure 35 is showing the small signal bandwidth as your Vsense voltage increases.  The Vout is the best way to display all the variations in gain.  That is why figure 35 is displaced that way.  You could just divide the output voltage by the gain of the version you are interested in to see the vsense voltage.
