OPA2197: Common Mode Distortion in Spice model

Part Number: OPA2197

Does the OPA2197 spice model include the ability to simulate common mode distortion performance ?

Thanks.

  • Hi TonyMCC,

I believe you are referring to the distortion that may occur when a changing common-mode input voltage causes the input common-mode capacitance to change. When I check the OPA2197 modeled parameters which are listed in the model syntax and it does not list common-mode distortion, or any distortion characteristics. Spice based simulation models in general do not model distortion characteristics because it is extremely difficult to replicate the same distortion results from a simplified transistor, or behavioral op amp model, as one might obtain from a real op amp operating under a specific operating condition.
