OPA2991: SPICE model with shutdown pin functionality

Part Number: OPA2991

Hello,

Is there a SPICE model for the OPA2991 which incorporates the shutdown pin functionality?

Specifically we're concerned with startup/shutdown transients and output impedance during shutdown.

Thank you, Keith

  • Hi Keith,

Unfortunately we do not have a model for the shutdown version of OPA2991. If this is something that's urgent please send me an email.

If you just want to check out how the transient looks like during startup/shutdown, please take a look at OPA2990S model, available at: http://www.ti.com/product/OPA2990/toolssoftware. This behavior will be very similar to that of OPA2991S.

Here is a quick comparison between these two devices:

Please let us know if you've any questions.

    Regards,

    Bala Ravi

  • Hi Keith,

properly modelling the shutdown feature of an OPAmp is a very complex task because in shutdown the OPAmp is running far away from its normal operation point. Also, many parameters widely change when traversing from the shutdown state to the normal operating state. I think here of junction capacitances, stray capacitances, charge injection, leakage currents, turn-on voltages of pn-junctions and transistors, and so on. So, you would need to model the shutdown feature down to a transistor level which would become enormeously complex.
