Hi team,

My customer wants to know if the LM119QML-SP has a metal lid. If it does, they want to check if the metal lid is internally grounded, or provides a pad for floating, or is floating.

Can you please help and provide if they have a metal lid, if that lid is internally grounded, or if there’s a pad provided to ground the lid? Or something else which you can add in the comments field?

Hello Alpha,

The LM119QML-SP devices in ceramic DIP packages do not have a metal lid. They are a two-piece glass frit-seal ceramic "sandwich" type package.

The package drawings will show if they have lids or not.

If the devices have lids, the package type usually shows "CDIP SB" (where "SB" = "side braze" - or a soldered-on lid).

Note that Paul's comment is for the ceramic packages.

The LM119QML-SP also comes in metal can. On most amplifiers and comparators, the can lid is connected to V-. That is the case for the LM119.
