Hi tech support

Currently i am designing in line current motor measurement in three phase inverter with DC supply voltage 350VAC and expected VL-L 220Vrms and IL 1000Amps Peak for 3phase AC induction motor, which Ti's solution for this type application 

I have read TIDA-00445 200A Shunt-Based 200A Peak Current Measurement Reference Design Using Isolation Amplifier and INA240.

bit confusing or too careful playing with high voltage and high current

  • Hi Abdin,

    mains voltage contains lots of overvoltages like BURST and SURGE:

    7776.4_Transient_immunity_testing.pdf

    So, using an isolation amplifier in such an application is perfectly okay. I would never do anything else.

    There is experimental Hall sensors TMCS1100 or TMCS1101 can support inline HV too.

    Thank you very much for the explanation, I very very appreciate, after view days considering AMC1302 +- 50mV input is suitable for my application it compatible for direct connection to shunt sensor, i hope Ti release AMC3301 +- 50mV instead of +250mV input.

    My Design goal is creating Shunt current sensor that able to sense 1000A, so combining AMC1302 + OPA37(for level offset) will be perfect

    Note : i just imitating what Tesla model S inverter shunt sensor, no one has capture the IC part number in internet and no one care

    No wonder Tesla S can only have short range on single charge.
