INA250-Q1: System gain error calculation

Part Number: INA250-Q1

Hello Team,

I'm Yuta Kurimoto FAE from TIJ.

INA250-Q1's system gain error is ±0.3%(25C), ±0.75(-40C to 125C) from the datasheet but it doesn't include the stress related characteristics of the integrated sense resistor.

Q1. Could you let me know how to take below characteristics into consideration for the system gain error?

Q2. In my understanding, the total RSS error is calculated as below. Is it correct?

Total RSS error = sqrt( "System gain error"^2 + "Non linearity error"^2 + "Error from input offset voltage"^2 )

If it is correct, where is the "Error from input offset voltage" in the datasheet?

Thanks,

Yuta Kurimoto

  • Hello Yuta Kurimoto,

For you first question if you stress the device this is the amount of change that can be see in the measurement for each of the particular stress.  If you do not have the stress and you operate in normal conditions then you would not need to add this additional error.

As for the total RSS error you need to take other things into account and ignore others.  Normally non-linearity is an error that is ignored but you do not have others that depending on application my not be ignored.

Here is a good start with some video for errors in current sense amplifiers.
