Can you tell me if LM2901AVQDRQ1 could have altitude related problems?
Does the component continue to work well at 6500 m?

In general, what are the altitude related issues for an electronic component?

Instead, I was wondering if there are problems due to less pressure or more rarefied air?

Hello Stefano,

The packages are molded epoxy, that should not contain any air pockets. The die is sealed within the epoxy. So there should not be any pressure differential to cause stresses across the package.

As Michael mentioned, temperature is a factor. The thermal resistance of the surrounding air increases with altitude, so Theta JA changes.

Yea, I was working on the Facebook high altitude drone project at one time (non-confidential) on the laser alignment circuits - the detector and 1st stage op amps were outside the craft - they mentioned in passing one day they would need to be doing some -80C testing - we all fell out of our chairs, nothing is specified that cold.
