THS4541: Using PSPICE model in ADS 2019

Part Number: THS4541
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: TINA-TI

Hello all,

I wanted to see if anyone had insight into using the PSPICE models provided on the TI website in ADS 2019. I have gone through the import procedure for the model, but end up with a schematic component that has no pins and doesn't resemble an op-amp (it appears to be a default template component with the text "PORT"). I attempted to modify the schematic component to add pins, but I cannot find out how to assign these pins to nodes within the model ,so if I try to simulate I get errors that pins aren't connected. Has anyone done something like this previously who could provide insight?

Thanks for your help.

-Ben

  • Hello Ben,

Not sure what is going wrong here, but pins within the model are labeled as such:

VOUTM VOUTP VOCM VINM VINP VEE VCC PD

Hopefully this might help you in adding pins to the imported device.

  • Hi Hasan,

Thanks so much for your reply. Per your suggestion, I assigned those pins to the imported netlist. However, now I am getting the following error:

    ERROR: (stdcmds.ael line 282, column 5)
Error generating netlist for "GlitchFilter_lib:cell_1:schematic": Failed to create netlist:
There is no corresponding terminal for `PD' in the netlisted view `IFF_THS4541_lib:UNNAMED:schematic'.

It appears that ADS is not "discovering" the pins within the netlist and therefore isn't able to assign them. I've looked around for a way to list the pins within an imported netlist to check that they're not listed under different names but haven't had any luck. I've attached a picture of my imported schematic symbol. Do you have any ideas what could be the issue here?

Again, thanks so much for your help.

    Best,

    Ben

  • Hello Ben,

Sorry not sure what the issue here in this case. The model can be used in both TINA-TI and Pspice, perhaps Keysight forums are better suited for issues importing the SPICE models into ADS.
