INA253: Input Referred Offset Current

Part Number: INA253
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA250

Hi,

The offset current of INA253 is lower than one of INA250 as follows when comparing INA253 with INA250 in the data sheet. So, could you please tell me that reason?
Additionally, could you please tell me that reason why the offset current of INA253 is independent of gain?

Best regards,
Kato

  • Hi Kato-san,

INA253 is the next generation current sense amplifier with integrated shunt resistor that builds on the expertise of INA250.

Compared with INA250 however, the core amplifier is totally different with better accuracy. There are also improvements in test capability. All of these contributed to the better specifications.

The offset current is trimmed in INA253. Ideally it should reach zero and be independent of gain. In reality it is limited by test solution capability and cost. That is why it is specified the way it is in the datasheet.

  • Hi Guang-san,

Thank you for the detailed information.

    I understand.
