The maximum power is dependent on multiple factors, Ambient temperature, output current, supply voltage, output voltage, etc. I recommend watching our TI Precision Lab videos on Power and Temperature to learn how to calculate the maximum power dissipation without overheating the device for you design.

Dear sir,

I'm using the single supply= 24V and Vout= 5V and Iout= 20mA and Iq = 2.03 mA and

thermal resistance mentioned in datasheet is 285.2 °C/W for TLV172 (DCK package)

Based on this data i'm getting 179°C raise at 60°C ambient temperature

Hi Mukke,

The absolute maximum operating temperature is 150C. Going above this temperature will damage the device.

Please see section 7.1 in the datasheet.
