ISO224: DC high Voltage input to iso224

Part Number: ISO224

We are looking to develop a precharge circuit in which we require to measure voltage  for which we are scaling 0-500V to 0-5/10V. In this paricular component we get an output ehich can be given to an ADC. In a particular application when the output was fed into a precision amplifier. So the couple of questions which rose were is the voltage the same as input voltage ie 0-12V which is the voltage across the R2 resistor in the above diagram or does it correspond to the voltage on the output side which can be -0.3 to 6.8V and the other question is as all the parameters are given for AC voltage can this component be used for DC application. Also assuming the output is fed into ADC is the output analog

  • Hi,

yes, this device is usable for DC. It is very fine with DC, I use it in a similar configuration. (+-480V to +-4V).

The gain of the ISO224 is 0.33333 and the input voltage is +-12V, so you get out +-4V max. (linear region).

You just have to calculate the values of the voltage devider, so 500V will divided down to 12V and thats it.

    With best regards

    Gerhard

  • Hi Darshan,

As Gerhard said, this device works great for DC voltage sensing.

There are several additional circuit design documents in the ISO224 product folder under technical documentation to assist. Please let us know if you have questions!

    Thank you Gerhard!
