RCV420: 4-20mA to 0-10V

Part Number: RCV420
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: XTR105

hello team
I have the task to realize a simple single channel signal conditioner for a RTD temperature sensor with 0-10V output, without any kind of

communication. I decided to use xtr105 with a subsequent RCV420 receiver. unfortunately, this receiver is optimized for an output voltage of 0-5V.
When connected a current loop between the + In and -In terminals instead of + In and Ct, I should theoretically get twice the output voltage.
Of course, then the offset compensation will be insufficient.is there any way to compensate bigger offset by shorting pads
RefIn and RcvfB and then use external resistors? Or/and is possible to compensate this offset using a 20v reference? Or there is another simple solution of the task with use off other ic's?
thank you for answer

  • Hi Alexandr,

One solution would be to gain the 0-5V output to get your 0-10V output.

If you connect the current input as you mentioned, you can use an external 20V offset if you have that available. On the RCV420 if you want to use the 10V reference you short the Ref Out pin (11) to Ref In (12). If you have a 20V reference to use then you could connect that to pin 12 instead.

Please let me know if you need any more assistance.
