Hi Sir,

The question is not exactly for OPA172 but looking for microphone preamp solution.

My customer searching a suitable low voltage microphone compression IC for ANC analog feedforward mic.

The reason is when outside audio source is too loud (like over 120-130dB) and consider mic capability (will clip when over 115dB),

hope the IC can compress the outside audio source low to 115dB.

 And also the compression ratio can support 2:1 or 3:1 so on that will fine-tune which ratio is good for the design.

They found ADI SSM2167 is able to meet the requirement and link as below.

But package is too big. Can you help to propose suitable part with tiny package?

    Hello Ian,

    I suggest TLV9061 because it has a tiny package, is low voltage, and is good for audio. It does not compress internally.

    I could hack in some compression but making that work well would likely need so many components that it would not be a small solution.
