Genius 4660 points
Part Number: INA281-Q1
Other Parts Discussed in Thread: INA193, INA281

Please let us know the reason why IB and Iq values of this part are larger that INA193-Q1.

  • Hello Kura,

The architectures of the INA281-Q1 and INA193-Q1 are quite different. One of the key benefits of the INA281's different architecture can be realized If you look at section 7.4.2 of the INA193 datasheet.  There you will see there are different operating modes defined below and above a Vsense voltage of 20mV.  The new architecture employed by the INA281 eliminates the operating modes at the price of a higher input bias current.  One other contributing factor could also be that the INA193 is a bipolar process while the INA281 is a cmos process. As for the quiescent current, this is a trade off that comes with having a higher bandwidth.
