LMH6517: Low frequency response performance

Hi,

I'm looking for a VGA solution to satisfy the requirements below:

1. support  5V supply

2. gain step size:0.5-1dB

3. gain range: -10dB to 15dB

4.BW: DC-130MHz

5. parallel control interface 

6. input range >=3.3V

Questions:

  • I prefer single channel solution but I find LMH6881 and LMH6402 has limit on gain range and control interface. Then I want to confirm whether LMH6517 or LMH6521 are suitable for this application? Which one do you recommend?
  • For the low frequency response, I just find the frequency response from 10Mhz in Figure2 datasheet.  Does this device could be used in low frequency range such as Khz level? How about the low frequency response performance?

    Hello Tess,

    The LMH6521 doesn't seem to provide the parallel interface your are looking for? 

    In regards to the LMH6517, if you are willing to give up some game control from 0.5dB to 1dB for lower noise & increase minimum gain to -7dB then the LMH6515 may be the better option. DC gain up to 10MHz should be a flat response.
