INA211: INA211 application questions

Hi Support team 

VCCS1=11V

12V=12.3V

12VF=12.6V

shunt  resistor = 0.1m ohm

max output current : 160A

0.1m*160*500= 8V

12VIO= 8V

base on following application circuit, 

I have few questions 

1. what is suitable value of input filter, C607, C610 and C611

2. what is max output current for this application? can INA211 support 160A output current 

3. any side effect?

    1. C607 forms a differential low pass filter with resistors R601 and 602. There is not a "correct" value here, but should be chosen based on the a filter value the customer wants to use for noise shaping. C610 and C611 form a common mode filter based on the same criteria. Typically, all of these are optional if the customer does not need filtering at the input. 

    2. what is max output current for this application? I'm assuming you mean input current here? Yes, the device should be able to handle this, as the current does not actually enter the device. The more important concern here is ensuring that the 100uohm shunt is capable of withstanding this. At 160A, 160^2*100u = 2.56W, so ensure a shunt is selected that is capable of handling this power dissipation.

    3. The main issue here, which is typical for this type of use case is controlling the thermals generated I discussed in part 2.

    Also, I would recommend depopulation of C606, as this feedback may cause undesired effects with the amplifier. The input lines should be Kelvin connected to the shunt, and isolated for best performance. If the customer is applying input filters via C607, 601-2, then output filtering is more than likely not necessary here.
